Together with Emma Larkinson – as ‘Prospectors’- we worked as creative partners at Queen Elizabeth High School, a grammar school in Northern Lincolnshire. The brief asked for creativity to be introduced into the high achieving school both in the built environment and within the thought processes of staff and students to enrich the teaching and learning experience in school.

We conducted three stages of audit, testing and propositions for the long term, and through the process became interested in how independent thought, expression and time to reflect could stimulate creativity where needed.

Our active approach to the project worked with staff and pupils, valuing their knowledge and response to the existing site, and created a variety of interventions that tested and informed the longer term plans for the school.

The subsequent propositions continue to work with staff and pupils in distinct areas of the school environment to develop creativity across the school.
